I need to pull my name (David Marble) from the waitlist, Ordinarily i would go just to support the festival if i was throwing or not, but finances are a bit of an issue right now.

Good enough...Please anyone else who is not going to make Southern Maryland, post here as soon as you know. We have a lot of folks on the waitlist and taking a spot and then not showing up would not be good.

Lou, sorry I won't see you there. Will you be at Edinboro again this year? I was the guy that helped you hold the caber for the parade of bands. That was a blast.

Trying to live the dream. Started my own business (freelance designer).
Money is tight right now. But hopefully that will change soon.
Still, have a good time. I hope I will get to one of the games later in the season.

Out of Southern Maryland

Postby Clancelt on Thu Apr 17, 2008 1:40 pm

It is with deep regret that I must withdraw from Southern Maryland. No, I am not injured but a little girls heart would be if I don't.

My daughter is advancing to her next belt in Karate. She just got the invite last week and the ceremony is April 26th of all days. I had planned on coming up solo and letting mom take her to the ceremony. Last night she asked me why I wasn't coming to her ceremony and was crushed when I told her I had a game that day.

She wins this one. These things only happen once in her life. She is a daddy's girl, and what kind of daddy would I be if I put myself before her?

So, it looks like you guys will have a few more medals to fight over

Don't worry, I'll give you all a few less to carry home from Bridgeport!

Hey, we'll miss you Eric, but there is no finer reason not to be there. Congrats to Catriona on her achievement!! :D

See you at B-Port, brother.

P.S. I hope I spelled her name right, because she'll be able to put a whuppin on me any day now!

 And you were going to put such a hurting on the VMC crew too!
Sorry you won't be here.
Guess I'll have to step up and try harder then.

BTW, the ankle is doing much better. The General won't let me do anything until the games, so that I won't mess it up again.

Please pull my name from the Southern Maryland registration list. Couldn't make it to enough training sessions to prepare for the games. I don't think I'm good enough to compete yet. Sorry if I put anybody out.

Thanks guys, I'll miss seeing you all again but it's only for another week. Gunny, that VMC is a tough group! Whoopins are hard to come by, so cherish any you manage to give ;)

Clark, aint no thing wrong with being raw. I recommend you still go and learn the ropes. Trust me, if you at least get an idea of shag order it will be worth the trip! Malcolm made me sign up and throw at this very game 4 years ago and I had only been training for a month. I came in dead last by the way, but have no regrets. I have been hooked ever since.

See ya'll at Bridgeport!

Eric,

I concur with your decision to be with your wee one. One of the reasons I started competing when I did was my youngest was 12 and the older one now has wheels. This really has opened up my free time... to work more, UGH! I will probably miss McHenry and Steppingstone this year for my daughters' dance recital. Dress rehearsal Saturday (8 hours of sheer bliss) and the recital Sunday. This stupid leap year has goofed up my entire June schedule.

Clark,

Two things, we do this to have fun and... no training will prepare you for competition jitters. Fortunately there was a port-o-potty real close to the field at Bridgeport. I made about 10 trips before we broke for lunch.

See you all soon \m/

It is ON!

VSG revisited. Ruh-Roh.

As long as we can spin in the WOB this will be interesting. Hopefully my hip holds out, Franks hernia doesn't bust, and Gene's car doesn't break down.

Man we sound like a bunch of geezers.

I really am sorry don can't make it. Competing with he and Troy Herr are such joys just to watch how throwing should look like.

I will have my hernia trussed up good. Oh, and if anyone found a prostate on the VMC practice field, it's mine. I think I lost it during WOB practice.

P.S. My tendonitis, arthritis and diverticulitis are mostly under control. Thank you.

I am forced to withdraw from this weekend due to injury, my apoligies. I have a partial tear of my biceps that is going to need a little longer to heal then I expected. Tried to push through it but am not going to be able to throw. Good luck all and throw far!
