PENN RENN/CELTIC FLING REG LIST & INFO***CLOSED***

Postby Mrs. T-Bone on Tue Jun 06, 2023 6:59 pm

***Registration for ALL flights is CLOSED***

DO NOT USE TIMES FOR RENN FAIRE TO PLAN YOUR ARRIVAL!! WE START THROWING BEFORE THEY OPEN THE GATES!! IF YOU MISS THE FIRST EVENT YOUR SCORES WILL NOT COUNT!!

Penn Renn list is below. As usual, we will all throw as 1 flight on both days. Women and Masters numbers will be limited so register soon. Please plan to be on the field at 8:30-9am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday to help set up. We'll start about 9:30 - 10am. Please don't be late. We will not be throwing light hammer or sheaf so there's no need to set up the big standards. You may park in the back and enter through the horse gate at the jousting arena or you may park out front at the participants lot and come in through that gate. For those coming for the first time... there is little to no shade unless you bring some. There is an area for pop-ups and we share well. You may want to bring lunch as it is a walk to faire food vendors and time may be tight given the size of the group. We throw in a large sand area (jousting arena) from a raised sod platform. Conditions are challenging so be prepared for anything. Registrations shown in RED are unpaid. This list is effective as of 6/22.

My apologies to the new throwers that want to throw with us at Penn Renn. Unfortunately because of the conditions and close proximity of the public we DO NOT allow athletes with no Highland games experience to throw at this event. Please contact me now if you are new and want to throw in either of our last 2 games (VSG & Richmond). There will be conditions that need to be satisfied prior to registration for both of these events

If you are new to Penn Renn/Celtic Fling you need to know that we throw in the jousting arena (a big sand box). We do not throw sheaf and hammer spikes are not possible as we throw from an elevated box with grass in it. It has a shallow bottom so spikes will not hold. Hope this helps you pack.
