Penn Renn Celtic Fling Reminder

1. Athletes are free, anyone else with you pays.
2. Go to the Participants gate.
3. Be at the field by 9:30 to help with set up; throwing starts at 10:30.
4. Be prepared for everything: Throwing off carpet, plywood, sand, mud, etc. Scorching heat and/or thunderstorms. Breaking for sheep dog demonstrations throughout the day.
5. We probably won't finish until after 6pm.

I can be there at 9:30, but what about our families? Can they get in before 11:00?

Anyone? Can our family enter through the participants gate with us at 0930 if they have the print at home tickets?

Called Vanessa Webb (Entertainment Coordinator) and she said that only the Participants will be allowed through the back gate. They do not have the capacity to scan the visitors passes at the participants gate.
She does however expect an early opening at around 1030, for the general public.

So, how close will we be able to get to the field to unload all our gear??

How far is the participants entrance from the field and the main gate?

I'm bringing a little garden wagon. Looks to be about a 1/4 mile+ from the participants drop off point to the field. Twice that from the front gate.
The front gate is on the opposite side of the shire from the participants gate.
McKenzie has a detailed map that he can email you. Or if you email me, I'll forward it on to you.

Ok, I'm an idiot. After saying I'd send you the map, I forgot to send it to my home email address, and I"m off for the weekend.

But I have an alternate map for you!
http://www.parenfaire.com/pages/outdoor ... edule.html

The participants gate is at the First Aid station at the top of this map. The field is at the top left item (1).

Route 72 is to the right and parking is top, right and bottom of the map. It doens't mention this, but the map is upside down. The castle gate is to the North and the participants gate is on the South side of the property.

Hope this helps.

You know, this raises another question. If our family has to enter through the main gate, does that mean they can't get in and join us until the festival opens an hour and a half later????

Yep, according to Vanessa!

If you go on-line and buy your tickets there, at least they won't have to stand in a second line to purchase them. (print at home tickets)
They'll be able to walk right in at 1030.
