This game IS officially on. I have been on vacation and working the Grandfather Mountain Games. Now back home. It was supposed to be announced last Thursday but the organizers just called to confirm on Friday last and Mike was notified to post. The tardy announcement was my responsibility. The game will take place on August 2nd and will start late like Penn Renn. There will be 7 events but no hammer as of now. I have had one hell of a time dealing with the insurance company and city lawyers out there but they have setteled down a bit now. No hammer but 28 for Distance is OK?? Figure that one out. More later. I have to go unpack and get to office to unscrew everything that has happened for last two weeks.

We are approching this thing in Dublin as try to convince them to go bigger and better next year. Email me privately for your concerns and needs and I will try to address in general on board. TNX, Poppa Dave

All right Mike, I've put it off as long as possible. Unfortunately, work will not cancel my trip to Jacksonville.
So, I will NOT be able to attend the Dublin Irish Festival.

MASTERS CLASS

Postby CelticElf66 on Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:23 am

Mac is going to split the field to run a MASTERS class! He is hoping to fill out the flight of 17.

Please be on the field at 9 a.m. prepared to start throwing at 10 a.m. Standards need to be put up BEFORE competition starts since it sill be a shortened day and hopefully a full flight.

Anyone on the athletics & staff list will not have to pay to get in. Let Mac know if anyone needs to be added to this list.

Heya Alex,

Since I've no been there before, is there special directions for a gate to enter, or special instructions for parking. I don't see such info on the website, but I could just be missing it, I'm slow like that sometimes. I guess I want to find the right person with the "list".

The game is new to MASA. I have never been there either, so I am not sure. Best bet is to leave yourself time to get lost. :D I wish I had a better answer for you. I will check to see if Mac has better info.

If the games are on the same field as last year, they will be held immediately to the left of the main entrance. It is on the main road. Parking was at the community college/office building about 1/2 mile away. The walk in was on all sidewalk so no worries about goat trails. This is a pretty big, impressive festival. There is are two areas for children to play in, one costs something the other is free. They have music and booths all day. It would be pretty nice for a family to kill time if everyone wanted to spend the long day. The festival is off I-270 in Dublin. It was well marked last year on where to park and which road to take. Dublin is also a high end area, so if wives/girlfriends get bored, they can easily find something interesting to do. Hope this helps.

Any chance for a late entry? I just heard about this, and I'm from fort wayne, so its not that far. I know its late, so I understand if its too late.

Do I need to fill out anything, pay anybody? Or just take care of it when I get there?

Your name should be on the list when you get there. If they need waivers signed, they will be there for you.

Info from McKenzie:

Here is a map of the festival. Athletes should enter through the Southeast gate. The gates are color-coded; the Southeast gate is green.

Staff is staying at this hotel:

There may still be rooms available for any athletes who need them.

Just a couple questions

I was reading the festival website, and it says no food or drinks are to be brought in. Will they stop an athlete with a cooler?

Are we still starting at 10am?
