WEIGHT CITY LOOMING

Postby jcollins on Tue Aug 12, 2008 11:16 am

All,

I wanted to put out a quick notice regarding Weight City and some additional last minute details. I have gotten a couple of questions and such about what people can bring in terms of food and beverage. Obviously we don't want to have 10,000 barbeque chicken breasts at the party, so if you could, email me at jcollins@aerotek.com and I will let you know if someone is bringing what you are planning on bringing and vice versa. If we can get a lot of people to bring food then maybe we won't need to pitch in much for the festivity outside of that. Once it gets down to Friday I will tally what people have told me they are bringing and fill in the missing spaces with things I will buy. I will also be buying a keg of something so most of the beer front is taken care of, but if you want something special like Guinness then you might need to bring a couple.

My address: 13030 Prices Distillery Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871
Start time: 9am
Parking: in the field in straight lines near the white barn (I will have signs)
Lunch and after games food will be grilled.

Events:
Braemar Stone (We could use one if you have one please bring it)
Open Stone
Heavy Weight (56)
Light Weight (28)
Heavy Hammer (22)
Light Hammer (16)
Caber Toss
Weight Over Bar (56)
Interpretive Dance (BJ is a shoe-in for this one)

If you have any other questions, my number is 240-731-8696. This will be a good one.

John, I just wanted to thank you again for allowing interpretive dance to be part of Weight City this year. I still am not over being kicked off of "So You Think You Can Dance." I have been training very hard and I am eager to demonstrate my skills.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you at Steppingstone but congrats on the weight loss this season. I guess those "pole dancing" classes have really been paying off!

old man McKenzie has a pretty sweet braemar stone that we threw there last year. If he isn't bringing it, i have one and old man McClain has a pretty sweet one called "the black pearl".

i guess i will bring a hunk of cardboard and break it down old school style with some poppin, ground work, and some serious turbo glide. yep, i am talking break dancing

Dickens, I didn't know you had those kind of skills...I have to admit, I did a little breakin' in my youth...though now when I do the worm I just wobble from side to side

Well, funny you should ask. I didn't want to give Mike Mc Dickens too much of an advantage by including the sheaf in the competition, but the actual reason is to warm up for the Pleasanton Games where they abhor the sheaf toss.

Plus, now we don't have to set up any standards. :)

speaking of Pleasanton...I am going to bring the "D" handle. I know you studs traveling out west will be using it, so this is my contribution to your success

Hey all,

Another quick note about this games. With the loss of Mr. Wright we can probably still use one more competitor at Weight City. Anyone interested should email me and I'll just take the first one who emails.
Jcollins@aerotek.com

Looks like it will be another great games. I will be picking up a lot of supplies tonight and thanks to everyone who has volunteered to pitch in with bringing food and such.

See you all tomorrow!

Hey John, against my orthopods better judgement, I am going to throw tomorrow after letting my knee rest for the last two weeks. It won't be pretty but I'll do my bestest. If I tweek this thing in the stones, I will join the cheering section for the remainder of the day. wish me luck....and yeah, I know no one wants to be my partner now ;-(
