Jeff can be a very good A this year if he wants to; super A in a couple years. Wish I had his hammer technique!

aw shucks guys, thanks for starting my training thread off for me. I doubt that I'll keep up with it through the off season, but I'll check in every once in a while.

So, I'm going to go with Gene's first post.
Day One: Rest. I've been doing some seriously physical work at the park and doing some GPP workouts and getting limber and ready to lift.
Tomorrow night is my first workout at the new gym. Should be a good time.

Well, I have said on several occasions that Jeff is gonna be a great thrower some day. he has a natural ability to stay long and smooth. just gotta get strong enough to move the weights and finish throws.

dig down and find the moxy in you heart, jeff. make us all proud. ;)

something like that. I hiked up a mountain, hurt it, then had to deathmarch back out to beat the sundown....I was ridiculously unprepared to spend a night outside alone with just a chainsaw for company. a truth that had just set in when I stepped in a bear turd...
It would've been a really cool way to spend an afternoon at work, except for the hamstring part.

BTW, I had a great upper body workout last night. Met some local powerlifters.
didn't have anything to write down what I did, but it basically went: push 5x5, pull 5x5. push in another direction 8x3, pull 5x6. 3x8 of BS like EZ Bar curls, french press. 10 min on the recumbent, nice and easy, stretch, post workout protein, 3 hours of homework, slept like dead thing for 7, off to do some painting this morning.

There, ya happy?

OK, everyone knows I don't know squat about lifting, but... french press? When I looked that up, all I got was coffee makers.

I thought that was when you practiced raising a white flag as high in the air above your head you can. This requires a lot of reps as the French have been surrendering for a long time! ;)

That's because my last 2 workouts looked pretty much the same as the last one I posted. and I've been too busy to type all that crap up. I assure you, there is as much training as there is BSing going on here.
and my hamstring is now hurting more thru the day than it did a few days after I did it. Going to see a doc Monday or Tuesday.

Training continues. It's going well, weight's going up, and I starting to get a groove in the bench. I'm still doing this...

Jeff Storey wrote:didn't have anything to write down what I did, but it basically went: push 5x5, pull 5x5. push in another direction 8x3, pull 5x6. 3x8 of BS like EZ Bar curls, french press. 10 min on the recumbent, nice and easy, stretch, post workout protein

...but now I'm doing a little more and a little harder on the bike, and I'm alternating between using a bar and DB's each workout, w/each plane.

Tonight, I was feeling good, (and the doc told me I could), so I tried a few squats. I did some front squats with 3x5 w 95--115. They felt good, I felt like I could've safely done much more, but I disengaged the meathead and hit the bike. 2 more weeks of light duty at work.
current weight, per the gym scale, 256
