First workout since taking a little time off to rest last week.

deads w/2″ bar worked up to 460, then 490 just bombed, very odd usually get this. backed down to 400 and just pulled some reps.trapbar shrugs worked up to 550 for a couple sets of 6.

squats 225×5,315×10,405x3x2. really got to work the new monolift attachment i made for my rack. i love that thing.

On of the worst training sessions i have had in a while, I will assume that I am just tired and slightly overtrained.

clean/press 2″ axle 180×3,190×3,200×3,210×3,225 freaking bombed(very unusaul) dropped back to 200 and strict pressed it for 10 striaght reps. clean at 225 was killing my thumbs. no excuses.

behind the neck jerks 200×5,240×3,250×3

circus dumbbell clean/press 80×5 each arm, jumped to the globe circus loaded to 110 and got owned, will play with this alittle more next week. my next contest has this in a medley but my dumbbell has larger globes than that one.

arm over arm sled pull 150 for 60′, 300 for 60′x2 using a 21/4″ rope, this kills the grip ,forearms,and biceps.

I will rest tomorrow and saturday then sunday do some olympic lifting with Gene Flynn at the Outcast gym.

traing at brute strength gym today

arm over arm/sandbag load/power stairs medely is going excellent feel really good about this event. havent run a time yet but feel it will be around 30-35 sec.

500 frame/500 yoke/500 tire medley ran thru this couple times. ran around 33/34 secs feel good about this time. transitions between implements pretty quick. can cut this to around 30 or high 20s by next time. just kinda cruised thru getting a good feel for the run time.

stones 207-330 cant say anything else but felt perfect. everything is going good right now, kinda getting in the zone for this .

did a demo caber flip for gym will post vid later

1/1/11 happy new year

training @ brute strength today

warmed up with 22# hammer winds 5 sets

arm over arm 300# sled for 50',200 sand bag load,300 power stairs cruised in at 40 sec. will cut to low 30's

500 frame ,500 yoke,500 tire all for 50' was a little slower today but figured out some little mods to make to cut time back to high 20 to low 30s

stones kinda cruised with this rolled all 5 stones 200-330, still trying to figure out a good tacky mixture.

I am now a dist. for oxygen4energy.com. this is the first day using the product so i was kinda unsure of what i would see if anything. this stuff is great!!! i noticed that i was more focused on the task at hand, i worked out for around 11/2 hr and never tired once. my rack press reflects that i pr'ed today havent seen that in about 2 months. as i am sitting here writing this i have yet to feel tired, sore or tight at all. i talked to several top tire powerlifters that use this prior to getting it, they had nothing but good stuff to say. i will be using this the entire day for my next strongman contest and will have it at ever highland games i attend this year. if you are interested in this email me and i will set you up with all the info.

arm over arm pull with 21/4″ rope 50′ 300# sled felt pretty good

using a new supplement oxygen4energy.com has supplied me with. this stuff is freaking great, doing the prowler and the arm over arm never got winded. during the deads each rep felt fresh and strong. had a better mental focus/clear head. even my traing buddy thad forehand tried it and said the same. GOOD STUFF!

recap of the brute strength strong man III

first event arm over arm350#,sandbag load 200# and 300 powerstairs.

this event had been pretty good in training. rolled thru it with a time of 31 sec.. alot of guys didnt take time to set up the implements like they wanted and this cost valuable time , got 1st here.

2. press medley 115 circus dumbbell,200 axle,220 log,180 keg.

this didnt turn out like i wanted at all, they used a dumbbell different from the slaters,think it was bigg dogg strong,while it was a great implement i just couldnt find the right balance point for my left hand. took fourth on 3rd on this event enough said.

3.500 frame,500 yoke,500 tire flip

this again had been a great event in training. as fate would have it some yoyos had been picking up the frame and dropping it, in the end the broke a weld making it unsafe to use. they changed to using farmers handles. not real happy at all but it is what it is.

30′ into my run my hands slipped dropping the handles, they had used plsatic lockjaw collars on the handles so when they dropped the broke and plates went everywhere. things like this happen so i restarted where i dropped instead of redoing the run.everything else ran ok. after the event a friend who was video taping me showed the vid to me, at the drop he had 8 sec, the time keeper said he had 15 sec. this would have made a big difference in the placing.

4 last man standing axle deadlift starting at 400#

i felt good about the event pulled up to 525 with ease,but tore a callous, went to 550 but knowing i still had stones to do i passed. still gaining valuable points finished 2nd in this.

last event stones 207,225,250,300,330

platforms varied from 72″ to 46″ ran thru the stones in 31 sec. securing the win here

finished the day by missing out on the overall win by .5 of a point, so finished 2nd. best thing is i had an injury free day did the fastest stone set i have done in the last 12 months. and reall proved that my oxygen4energy works like a charm, felt fresh for every event and never got winded .

pumped west cary barbell with a bunch of guys at the contest. will have some pics posted soon

i saw flaws in my game on some events, however i also saw how much improvement i have made in the last 3 months. 9/11/10 i tore my planterus tendon doing farmers walk, it was very hard to train moving events until November. but now its on, the fire is getting hotter! i want push it harder than ever before and see where it takes me.

started using con-cret concentrated creatine today seemed to get a little more endurance mainly on the curl burnout. squats felt really light, even after having done a strongman contest on 1/15
