Mighty VMC Practice

Brothamen-- Like Bryan said, the time has come. I have to teach Tuesdays evenings, so I'm planning to practice Wednesdays around 5:30-5:45pm until 7pm or so, and on Saturdays around 10-10:30am until 1-1:30pm, starting tomorrow.

Please post here if that time works for you, if it doesn't, when/if you can come, etc.

Looks like we have the bases covered Tuesday thru Thursday and on Saturday.

Since rain is in the forecast tomorrow thru the end of the week, it looks like today will be the only dry day to practice until next week. I'll be at Bryan's house around 5:40pm and will throw for an hour or so or until it's too dark-- whichever happens first. 15-20 minutes at the sheaf tree, and maybe half an hour or so throwing at the VMC field.

Looks like this Saturday might be rained out; we'll have to play it by ear. On Saturdays we usually toss most stuff; caber and WOB are the only iffy events as of now since the cabers at the field are either enormous (there's one that has to be over 200 lbs and over 20 feet) or broken/banged up, and SOMEONE has put a hurtin' on our WOB stand. We'll need a new one, or some major repairs; I will help fund it if someone has the time and the skills.

It might be best to wait another week or two if you want to include caber and WOB, Bryan. (Other than just tossing the weight in the air.)

I'm on here daily, so if we decide to call practice on Saturday just let me know then... I need to get out and throw stuff though, and it is just 100% too wet here to throw without an excavator for shagging. I'm sure the Gunny will whip up on me and drag me out to throw after he rests up from his vaca... I mean work trip...

Rainy, muddy-- no practice for me, anyway. I have a comp in 2 weeks; going to be interesting! Still haven't touched a caber, hammer or tossed wob since October. I hope the next 2 weeks are dry...

Just eyeballed the 10-day forecast. Middle of next week looks good; rain in the forecast for next weekend again, although this far out who knows.

But since I don't have anything else to go on, instead of Wednesday I think I'll shoot for practice on Tuesday and Thursday around 5:45pm. With the time change, we should be able to practice until 7:15-7:30. Then lets hope Saturday looks good!

Ah, yes. Dunedin. Great event. I am taking the family to TX and will be partaking in the San Antonio games.

So, this weekend. I am gonna go to the VMC regardless of weather. The idea is to get up there early and refurbish the WOB stand. And, I have an idea that may improve it, a little.

If its rainy, I will just work on the stand. If the weather is tolerable, I will be throwing, yo.

Also, Thursday is looking good and the field, hopefully, will have dried out some more by then. Very muddy tossing caber there yesterday. So Thursday around 5:45ish.

Sheaf and maybe a little WOB at Bryan's house if MikeD has the WOB machine up and running, then some stone, weights, hammer and caber at the field-- say 4-6 tosses of each?
