Mighty VMC Practice

I'll be heading over to Bryan's tonight, throwing some sheaf and WOB from around 5:45-6:15, then down to the field for stone, weights and maybe some hammer until 7:30 or so. Come on out and get your throw on.

Looks like rain tonight so I'll be heading over to Bryan's tomorrow at the usual time. Come on out and let's toss a little steel.

Tomorrow, 10:30am at Bryan's house. Sheaf and WOB then down to the field for everything else. Come out and sling some steel with us.

Good practice today with new guy Brian and Mike M. Sheaf and WOB at Bryan's house, then stone, lwfd, hammer and caber at the field. Mike is looking good after working through an injury; expect him back on the field soon.

I'm hoping to practice again on Wednesday, weather permitting. I have a class starting on Tuesdays, so if Wednesday looks bad I'll try to throw Thursday. Come out and throw!

Looks like a chance of showers in the afternoon/evening on Saturday (and Sunday looks worse right now) so it might be a good idea to arrive at Bryan's house so we can get started right at 10:30. Hopefully we'll be able to get sheaf and WOB done by 11:15 or so, then down to the field for a couple hours of everything else, wrapping up around 1:30. Don't forget water and snacks; if we can skip the usual trip to 7-11, we can save 20 minutes or so.

Just Brian the new guy, me and BJ (through 3 events or so) today. BJ was pretty amazing throwing left-handed; he was close to 15' with the 42# WOB, mid-thirties with the stone, and around 20' with the sheaf-- all with his off-arm, and a body weight of maybe 170-175. Brian's numbers are coming along; he's throwing well for a newbie, especially one weighing 190. He even picked a caber weighing around 125. My throws were off a little; I had the occasional good throw mixed in with a bunch of mediocre ones. We did a lot of throwing; 8-10 throws with all 7 events. Going to need some vitamin I tomorrow!

I've been fighting off bronchitis this weekend, but I'm hoping to toss 2 or 3 events tomorrow and 2 or 3 events on Wednesday, weather permitting. I should get going around 10:30am tomorrow, and around 5:45pm on Wednesday. Looking forward to cooler weather at McHenry; see you all there!

Practicing at VMC is officially the best way to induce labor... I had just got there, took my first pull on WOB and I got the phone call to book it home. You better believe I finished my throws first though.
