Off season training question

Postby Burke on Thu Nov 25, 2010 12:09 pm

Happy Thanksgiving !!! I would appreciate any insight into what ya'll feel are the most effective lifts that I should focus on during the off season that will give me the most bang for the buck in the games? I am also looking for a more hardcore gym here in Richmond to train at, the big box gyms have a lot of restrictions....thanks for any feedback !!!

Olympic lifts.... made major improvements this year simply by adding a few o lifts.

Thanks buddy - I will give them a shot, it makes sense as they are very explosive lifts.

What type of routine do you follow?

During the OS i focus on getting strength back up, pre season i start hitting the O lifts but i'm still doing a "body building" split. during the season i do two workouts a week one push one pull along with that i'm throwing 3 days a week on non comp weeks, and comp weeks i drill 2 days. Hope it helps
