VMC kick start

Hey guys - The achilles is pretty much healed and boy have I packed on the weight SOOOOOO ......

Time to kickstart the winter training - I am thinking a combination of drills and strongman training would be nice. What for posts here but as long as the temp is above 40 and the ground is not covered in snow then it is on.

Generally speaking I am talking 2 hours of training from 11 - 1 there abouts. When dry enough I will mix in drills, wob and sheaf. When too wet then some strongman on the sidewalk. tire flips, suitcase and farmer's walk, what ever.

So Jay is starting today let me know who is in and I will send PMs or text messages through out the winter.

later

Damn work. Bummed that I missed today, but I'm also just getting over some illnesses, so maybe for the best.

Out of town for my brother's wedding next weekend, but hoping to get at least a couple days' worth of something in February & March. . .

I'll be coming up sooner or later.

I can bring my 450# tire and a few other toys.

I'm up for some easy throwing, but I'm too delicate a buttercup to flip giant tires and whatnot.

Tomorrow is looking good for some standing throws (WOB, Stone, and hammer) for those that would like to join. I am thinking 11 to let it warm up. too wet for sheaf and any spinning. we can also do some drills in the newly refilled wob/drill pit.

Any taker?

Damn, I really need some training, but can't make tomorrow. I could do Sunday if anyone wants to reschedule. . .

Edit: I may be able to do a little later on Saturday. Have a couple of furniture deliveries scheduled for the morning, but could maybe do around 3.

Howdy, I'd be able to meet tomorrow. Got some plans later in the day, so 11 works good for me. I'm flexible with days and times though, so it's all good.

latest forecast update - looking at 51 degrees and sunny on Saturday. Then rain and maybe snow overnight and cloudy Sunday. Seems to me that Satruday is the better day to throw. Gents - Saturday at 11 instead of Sunday?

Looking awfully cold both Saturday and Sunday, probably next weekend for me unless there is a pretty big change in the forecast.

yeah - it is not getting above the McClain line at all this weekend. So looks like a lot of single handed lifting and core work.

OK - Saturday is looking like the best option for throwing this weekend? I am flexible on the time guys so you let me know what is best.

11?

Going to add drills to our repetoire. if it is dry enough perhaps even single spins.

Hey everyone, I'll be in PA this Saturday, and won't be getting back until around 4pm Sunday. I'll definitely catch the next one though.

I'm probably going to miss this week and next week due to other commitments, but am hoping March and April are warm and dry!

while Saturday and Sunday are going to be nice - given the rain on Friday we are supposed to get I would like to schedule sunday at 11 for us to train.

Warning - I was able to do some double spins with the 28 last weekend with Swede. If we are able to do the weights, stones, hammer, caber, Sheaf, and WOB practice is going to be a looooong one. Achilles is still holding thankfully although I had a moment Saturday.

so who's in?

We're doing a belated b-day celebration for Lee on Sunday; not sure what we'll be doing when at this point so I'm a "maybe".

I am going to have to miss this week -- got the future mother-in-law in town, but I should otherwise be good to go every weekend until Southern Maryland. . .

I should be good to go for this week. Next week though, it looks like I'll be making another trip to PA. After that, I have no foreseeable plans to be gone.

So predictably, now that I can get out and throw, it rains all day Wednesday and is supposed to rain Saturday too.

Bryan, any chance Vienna was spared rain yesterday? Anyone up for doing some drills and such Sunday if it's too wet to really throw?
