Pre/in-season training

Starting pre/in season weight training and throwing. I’m looking for some feedback on training splits. Weight training ( fast twitch, power type stuff ) three days a week and throwing three days a week alternating. Do you think throwing WOB and Sheaf on the same day is detrimental or beneficial since both events are basically jumps. Does anyone include any standard weight training during their in- season workouts i.e. Bench press, triceps, shoulders, traps lats, etc? I find if I only focus on power ( jump shrugs, oly lifts, plyo work etc. ) I will lose overall strength by the end of the season.

I often train WOB and Sheaf on the same day, they are both pulls so i feel like it is better to work on those together. Last year i abandoned my standard workouts in favor of developing more explosive strength. By the end of the season I had lost a noticeable amount of strength, so this year I will be going back to my regular workouts (Chest and Tris, Back and Bis, legs, shoulders and core) I will take a single rest day per week and will alternate lifting and throwing/drills. Just my two cents...

I lift when I feel OK, and throw on weekends if the weather is good.

Kody, a good workout for the events **could** look something like this:

Monday: Powerclean and Snatch

Tuesday: Sprints and Box jumps

Wednesday: Incline press and bent row

Thursday: Sprints and footwork drills

Friday: Front squats and Goodmornings

Saturday: Throws

I didn't see a training log section here, but if you're looking for one, I use http://www.sweatpit.com
