The "regular" training schedule is Tuesdays and Thursday at 6 pm at my house. normally we have been doing sundays at 10am but that is dependent on weather. If sunday is going to be a washout and saturday looks good then I will post an update so everyone knows of the change.

Tuesday and Thursday we will typically do a two events each day with drills and throws. Weekend is a lot more of a marathon - typically 4 hours.

I'd subscribe if I knew how, fellas. I'll need the "Subscribing for Dummies" version.

Much obliged.

Thanks. I had to log in to make it appear on the bar. Looks like I was already subscribed, though.

Yes, 'tis confusing. You know if you're subscribed if the word SUBSCRIBE changes to UNSUBSCRIBE.

You can also go to your User Control Panel (link is in the 2nd light blue bar at top of page), select MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS.

This Week Tuesday 2 July - Stone and heavy weight for distance plus hammer winds and weight drills 6pm 8500 Stonewall Dr, vienna va 22180
4th of July - I am open to ideas. I can either do drills early and wrap up by 1pm or just hold off until the weekend. I have to run to WV for some real fireworks :-)
6th or 7th of July let's watch the weather. I am open all weekend so we can look at Saturday or Sunday - which ever is easier.

Sheaf Daddy,

Could you give me a run down on your practice sessions?

This way I have something to go on since I am just beginning.

Thank you and throw safely.

Hey Guys,

With the VA Games coming up what does your training schedule look like? I have never competed - well... I have competed at the games on the bagpiping side of the fence - and am interested in learning more/getting a feel for the heavy events.

We're scheduled for practice tomorrow at Bryan's house at 11am, but it's looking like we might get rained out.

Tuesday, 9/3: I will spend the day and night healing up from the VSG's on Sunday, so no practice tonight for me. Light lift tonight, medium lift on Wednesday and we'll see how things feel on Thursday.

Didn't mean to leave you hanging, Brian. I practiced (sheaf, hammers and weights) by myself at Bryan's yesterday, and plan to practice (sheaf, wob and stones) on Thursday. Happy to throw/coach/hang with one and all. I'm at Green Hill on Saturday, so obv no practice for me this weekend, but Bryan and/or others might be out there.

BTW, did I hear you got married? Haven't seen you in a while; glad you're still throwing!

No worries, Frank -- Bryan told me he was sick Saturday, so I just ended up taking a few by myself at the school near me.

Married, yes, and our first son is due in early November! Won't be at Green Hill or Richmond, but hope to make it to VMC at some point next season...
